  1. Haydar Aliyev Center

The most famous monument of Baku and the first landmark you will see when you arrive in Baku from the airport. Designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the building features retro car collections. In addition, you can watch many interesting exhibitions. The museum is designed in the form of Heydar Aliyev’s signature.

What can be done here? People love to take pictures around this building. Before leaving Baku, you must take a picture here.

2. Maiden Tower

Top view of Maiden TowerThe most famous historical symbol of Baku, located at the entrance to the Old City of Baku, Icheri Sheher, near Baku Boulevard. The building was built in the 12th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

What can be done here? In addition to taking pictures around, you can climb to the top of the building and look at the beautiful view of Baku. There are many souvenir shops around where you can buy gifts. Plan to spend your 90-120 minutes of the day here if you are going to do some shopping. Otherwise, 60-90 minutes will be enough.

Keep in mind that you need to use high stairs to climb the building, it is not recommended for older people.

 

3. Highland Park

You have to visit this park to see the most beautiful view of Baku. We recommend that you start your journey with the Flame Towers, the symbol of Baku. From here you will walk along the Alley of Martyrs and see the most beautiful views of Baku and the Caspian Sea. If you go during the day, you can get off near the Carpet Museum by Baku Funicular. If you go at night, you will see the twinkling lights of the Flame Towers. Plan to spend your 60-90 minutes of the day here.

 

 

 

 

4. Baku Boulevard

You can rent a bicycle or scooter in the park, use the attractions, go for a boat trip. Alternatively, you can sit by the sea and enjoy the sound of the sea waves or drink tea or coffee in teahouses, ride the Baku Eye, visit the Carpet Museum, and shop at shopping malls such as Port Baku Mall, Park Bulvar or Deniz Mall. Plan to spend your 120-180 minutes of the day here, recommended after sunset.

 

 

5. Fountains Square

You can relax in different restaurants, fast-foods, coffee shops, shop in different shops. Join the fairs held on holidays such as New Year and Novruz. Don’t forget to taste street food too. The place is completely closed to traffic.

Plan to spend your 180-240 minutes of the day here, recommended after sunset.

 

 

 

6. Icheri Sheher (Old City)

Baku Old CityAncient Baku is located here. In this place, which is a relic of the Shirvanshah era, you can have a good time, buy souvenirs and relax in various restaurants. The Museum of Shirvanshahs and the Double Fortress Gate (Qosha Qala Qapisi) are located here. Fairs are organized on various holidays. You will feel the history here.
